Esmeralda is a first generation Mexican-American filmmaker whom her entire life, has called the south suburbs of Chicago her home.
Existing as someone with a multitude of passions and interests, walking into adulthood I found clarity in identifying with the renaissance term multipotentialite. This self-realization soon prompted my pursuit of a career in filmmaking, as I thrive in exploring both the visual and written arts.
As a wordsmith, I find joy in developing original ideas into scripts. As a visual artist, I use the mediums of photography and cinematography alike to bring life and color to stories untold.
Photography was my first creative outlet, and that journey began at Prairie State College. Where I received an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts as well as accolades in public speaking as a speech team member. I then pursued my film education at Depaul University, and graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Film and Television and a minor in Screenwriting.
